This, by the way, is TS. He is on loan from The Farm Goddess, here because we are in the season of love for goats. I've secretly come to think of him as Mr. Tumnus. He is the the nicest buck I've ever met. If we get a buck out of him, we'll keep him. TS has a wonderful demeanor.
And, to me, he looks like an ancient creature of yore. Which, I suppose, he is.

  2. He's a beauty. Does he stink yet? My lover boy wants to rub all over me and he does. And then I do too. But I got to say, my buck is my absolute favorite, he's the sweetest goat of the bunch.

  4. Also, ironically, I just emailed the Farm Goddess. Stumbled across her blog and recognized her kids from an activity we did with them. Small world. I need a TN Fainter buck.

  5. Oh my heavens, Doc, he stinks like nothing else. But I love him so much, I don't even care.

CC, the Farm Goddess is a wonderful person and neighbor. Did you quote off her blog comments this morning? Because that made me cry. Put my hand over my mouth and cried.

Val, I'm okay. Just wounded my stupid pride. :o)

  6. He is very cute. Hope he is enjoying the hay! You sure worked for it. What will you do with the kids if they come?

  7. The on-going hope is that we'll have a bigger small farm soon. So I would love to keep a doe-ling or two. If we get more than one buck, we have choices. We could keep one and eat the rest--wether them and raise them. Or we could try to sell the extras. Does are easier to keep and easier to sell. Raising a few lovely does to sell as milk goats can nearly cover the price of hay for the year. So that's a nice option.

Vanilla was bred yesterday. Hopefully Tulip will finally come into heat soon. Letting them raise their babies for a while is the other goal.
