ReplyDeleteOnly you, my love, think six challenging novels in six months at age 12 is somehow lacking. You've already read more, this year, than most high school students. Even if we discount the shallower books. Which I say to you, not to stoke some sense of competition, but to offer a bit of perspective. You are doing quite well, growing everyday in your ability to think creatively and deeply. Which is not true for everyone.
ReplyDeleteKeep reading (and writing). Know that you are getting smarter everyday. Remember that kindness and will are more important than smartness. (Or perhaps kindness and will are the heart of smartness?) And that your father and I love you very very much. We are proud of you.
