I gave my son a small lecture about being helpful, enthusiastic, and figuring out how to drive your own life through action. I mentioned the Seven Deadly Sins--an act of irony if ever there was one. Are 13 year old boys naturally a bit lazy? Then what's my excuse?!
Spongebob Squarepants and the 7 Deadly Sins
We all do have our own inner 13 year old boy, lol.
ReplyDeleteJohn and I had a conversation he said totally shifted his world. He was at an age poised to go to school, and bored at home, playing too many video games and seeming quite lazy.
I told him a lot of people are doing a lot of things and if you don't get moving you're going to be left behind.
He scoffed at me. Then that fall he went to school, and saw a lot of people doing a lot of things, and he was astonished and jumped on board--chess club, newspaper, basketball, track.
I think there's a natural pause point in a kid's life at the beginning of puberty, and then they gather energy before they burst into their teenage life. love, Val
